Patricia Haugaard lives in Ireland and has translated a number of books from the Spanish. A Francoist supporter, he was also something of an existentialist in this novel whose anti-hero commits, crimes and murders making it reminiscent of Camu's The Stranger. The New York Times calls it "After Don Quixote, probably the most widely read novel in Spanish literature." This copy is in excellent collector's condition; very tight, with very fresh cloth and sparkling gilt titles.
