First edition thus (first trade), limited to 2500 copies. 413 pp. Collection of (29) Poe tales, illus. w/ (8) tipped-in color plates + (24) monochrome drawings by Harry Clarke (1889-1931), a leading artist in the Irish Arts & Crafts Movement. Very slight rubbing to corners and extremities, text block edges typically a bit tanned by age. Firm binding, clean and unmarked interior. Half-title a bit tanned. All plates present and fully intact, without tears; one color plate (frontis.) shows minor creasing to one bottom corner only. Dust jacket technically Good only with rubbed flap folds and joints, several short closed tears with associated creasing along bottom front edge, areas of loss along bottom rear edge, loss to 3/4" at head of spine panel and shallow loss at heel, still displays reasonably well in mylar..
