A small publication of 192 pages. The dust jacket is a little shelf rubbed, chipped, torn, edge worn and scuffed in places. There is sporadic foxing on the early pages, but very little in the body of the book. The paper is 'browned', there are age related marks in the text. Small edge tears on page edges. Originally published in 1933, this is a much later edition from 1958, part of the Collins "Seagull Library" series. Book has previous owner's name and address written in pencil on endpaper, the illustrations on pages 79, 80, 107, 117, 159 are lightly colored in with crayon, a slightly shaken spine, heavy rubbing to the edges of covers and spine, and gentle bumping to the corners of covers. Otherwise, the book is in good condition with sturdy pages and charming illustrations throughout.

Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout however binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Clipped jacket has heavy edge-wear with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and creasing.
