DJ's fair only; staining along spines. Loss at V1 DJ tail and at V2 DJ head, and a nickel size triangular shaped whole in middle of V2 DJ spine. A bit of light soil to DJ panels. Slipcase quite worn, soiled.

Two Vols. Introduction by Albert Bigelow Paine. Fasinating material originally written by Twain in 1906. This is an excellent copy of the second printing, printed shortly after the first printing. The interiors of both volumes are clean, no marks of any kind. The hinges and all signatures are tight. There is no foxing. The gold gilt on the front covers and spines of each volume remains bright. The gold gilt on the top page edges is also bright. There is modest shelf rubbing to the edges of the boards.

Green embossed publisher's cloth with gilt title in center of front cover. No title along spine. Yellow endpapers. Ads on copyright page and last page. 47 pp. + 1 ad at rear. NOT a frist state due to the presence of the advertisement for Ball, Black & Co. on the copyright page. A very nice copy in the scarce green cloth binding (more often found in wraps).
