The interiors of both volumes are clean, no marks of any kind. The hinges and all signatures are tight. There is no foxing. The gold gilt on the front covers and spines of each volume remains bright. The gold gilt on the top page edges is also bright. There is modest shelf rubbing to the edges of the boards.

Book is in decent condition for its age. Cover is worn along edges. Hinges are cracked. Front endpaper is detached, but present. First blank page is partially torn along hinge, but remains attached. Binding is intact. Light stains on pages 32 and 22, covering some text but not affecting legibility. All other pages are lightly tanned, but otherwise clean and unmarked.
