A small group of people, locked in the snows of the North were suddenly caught in the grips of diphtheria and in desperate need of serum. When Mountie Jim Thorne and his dog Silver Chief arrived with the serum, the outpost was saved. In fact, the two seemed to have brought good fortune with them, as caribou arrived and then the foxes. But, then the skins of the fur trappers started to disappear and Silver Chief was blamed! So Jim started an investigation to clear his dog. An investigation that proved to be dangerous.
