First edition, hardback. 19.5 Ã 12.5cm, 518pp. This copy has a prize label to the ffep from The Edinburgh Sir Walter Scott Club which has been signed by Eric Linklater (as President), Allan C Frazer (as Secretary) and another member of the Council whose name I can't decipher. A collection of verse in Scots (as popposed to an anthology of Scottish poems) starting with anonymous verse of the 1300s through to poets born in the first two decades of the twentieth century. Also includes a glossary of early Scots and modern Scots. Condition: A good solid copy, though the spine has a water-stain and is faded, and a few spots of fraying to the rear joint. The contents are very good.
