The chance discovery of a ship buried underground for millions of years transforms the inhabitants of a New England town into one evil, homicidal entity. This is a true first printing with the phrase "Permissions to Come" printed beneath a correct full number line sequence. This copy features the author's name in gold, though it should be noted that both the red and the gold versions are equally desirable. Save for some very light soiling to the textblock edges, this is a clean copy with no writing, marks, underlining, or bookplates. No remainder marks. Not an ex-library copy. Spine is tight and crisp, though the binding is visible along the gutter of the title page. Corners are square, and the boards are flat and true, though they do show some bumping/edge wear. Pages 33 through 64 are moderately browned and stand out from the rest of the textblock, which is generally much brighter. Dust jacket is price-clipped and also has some scuffing, edge wear, and browning to the flaps and inside edges. The lettering on the front cover, which can be quite worn on these books, is slightly rubbed but consistent throughout the author's name. This collectible, very good/very good, first edition/first printing copy is protected with an archival mylar dust jacket cover. A great price for a true first of this classic King novel! Satisfaction guaranteed!
New York, NY: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1987. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good+/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. The chance discovery of a ship buried underground for millions of years transforms the inhabitants of a New England town into one evil, homicidal entity. First edition, second state, with a full 1 through 10 number line but without the "permissions to come" statement printed beneath as a true first printing would have. This copy features the author's name in red, though it should be noted that both the red and the gold versions are equally desirable. Aside from some browning to the pages and textblock edges, this is a very clean copy with no writing, marks, underlining, or bookplates. No remainder marks. Not an ex-library copy. Spine is tight and crisp. Corners are square, and the boards are flat and true with minimal, if any, wear. Dust jacket is not price-clipped but does have some scuffing and edge wear including some small tears along the upper and lower spine extremes and a 1/2" tear along the lower edge of the front cover. There is also a light crease that runs the length of the spine as well as some browning to the flaps and to the inside of the jacket. The red lettering on the front cover, which can be quite worn on these books, shows only very light rubbing to a few of the letters. This collectible, very good+/very good, first edition/second printing copy is protected with an archival mylar dust jacket cover. Satisfaction guaranteed!
