Inscribed on the half-title: "To Max Lerner - Who understands the Real World described in this volume - from Richard Nixon. 3-11-'82." Max Lerner (1902-1992) was a liberal syndicated columnist with the New York Post. His outspoken opinions and antiwar columns earned him a spot on "Nixon's Enemies List." By the 1980s, he become more conservative, expressing support for Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan.
