This copy is a fifth printing of the first edition, with the same cover art as the first printing (does not match stock photo), but produced after the Newberry win, so it also has the Newberry medal added to DJ design. Black cloth with blue spine titling, very good with slight fading to an area of the back panel, beneath a chip in the dust jacket; lightly bumped spine ends. Spine square. Binding sound. Dust jacket good only with aforementioned chip at top edge of back panel, about 1.5 x 2.5 -inches, with occasional closed tears along the other edges and light scuffing / shelf-wear. Pages clean and bright, text unmarked.

The book is ***SIGNED & INSCRIBED to a reader & DATED 11/9/1996,*** on a tipped-in card, located on the title page. A beautiful and hard-to-find copy with the author's inscribed signature makes it a great gift for any age and occasion. The hardback & spine is in Near Fine condition, with no marks, slant, stains. There is a trace of foxing on the front and rear end paper. The dust jacket is also in Near Fine condition. It is later state, when the book's publisher changed to HarperCollins. There is a faint discoloration near the edges but otherwise the DJ is clean and bright. Adapted successfully for film in 2007 by David Paterson and Jeff Stockwell, directed by Gabor Csupo, starring Josh Hutcherson, AnnaSophia Robb, Zooey Deschanel, and Robert Patrick.

The book is inscribed by Paterson on the title page and is dated the year of publication. The inscription reads, "For Colby Rodowsky - I'm so glad to get to know you - Best wishes - Katherine Paterson - 12/8/77". This was Colby Rodowsky's personal copy and is signed by her on the front endpaper. First printings of Bridge to Terabithia are scarce as there were only 7000 copies printed. The book and dust jacket both have rubbing and toning overall. The book has a moderate lean and bumps to the spine ends. Binding is tight and the interior pages are unmarked. Dust jacket shows minor wear to edges and corners, small chips to the spine ends, and a few small closed tears to the edges. Dust jacket is wraped in protective mylar.
