Plutarch's 'Parallel Lives', detailing the biographies of noteworthy Greek and Romans, one from each empire paired to compare and contrast. Features the likes of Julius Caesar, Cicero, Pompey, Alexander, Mark Anthony and Theseus. Plutarch (c. 46AD-119AD) was a Greek writer and philosopher, with 'Parallel Lives' and 'Moralia', a set of essays, being his most famous works. Translated by John Langhorne and William Langhorne.
