Signed Typescript from the Japanese Home Service KON 630 KCS at 6:00 AM Tuesday 8/7 which reads, in part: “A small number of B-twenty-nines penetrated into Hiroshima city a little after eight AM yesterday morning and dropped a small number of bombs. As a result a considerable number of homes were reduced to ashes and fires broke out in various parts of the city...The enemy has exposed his cold bloodeness and atrocious nature more and more in killing innocent people by the use of this new-type bomb. ... The enemy has been carrying out large-scale propaganda on the effectiveness of this new-type bomb since using these bombs, but as long as we formulate strong steel-like measures to cope with this bomb, it will be possible to keep damage to a minimum...” Signed at bottom "Thomas W. Ferebee," the bombardier who dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima in World War II. Comes with a japanese paper money also signed by ferebee In excellent condition.

Signed book " 509th Composite Group History", hardcover, 103 pages. This book is a pictorial album of the 509th Composite Group following them from Wendover Field to them stationed in Tinian. Introduction on first page written and signed by Colonel "Paul W. Tibbets". Across from Tibbets signature Navigator Theodore Van Kirk writes entirely in his own hand: "It was an easy mission because everything went according to plan...The major concerns about the mission were 1. would the bomb work 2. getting away from the blast . Remember this had never been done before and it was a great unknown. When the bomb exploded there was a sense of relief - it had worked. It didn't destroy the airplane. When we looked at the city of Hiroshima it was covered by a cloud of smoke and dust topped by the large mushroom cloud going up to 42,000 ft." Signed "Theodore Van Kirk - Navigator Enola Gay - Hiroshima 6 Aug 1945." In excellent condition.

[3], [1 blank] pp.Very rare first issue (of two) of a late 18th-century decree by the Portuguese King José I (1714-1777) dealing with difficulties in the transportation of enslaved people from Mozambique to Brazil. This text, dated 12 December 1772 and signed “Rey” (King) at the end, is also signed by the notorious Portuguese nobleman and diplomat Marquez de Pombal. Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, 1st Marquis of Pombal (1699-1782), who was the Secretary of State of the Kingdom during the reign of Dom José I in the period of 1750-1777. It is concluded with a formal text, dated 18 December 1772 and signed by João Baptista de Araújo, a senior officer of the Secretariat of State. In 1761, Marquez de Pombal prohibited the importation of enslaved people in Portugal and Portuguese India, not for humanitarian reasons, but because they were needed for labour in Brazil. He stimulated the trade of, mostly African, enslaved people for that colony and with his support two companies for slave trade were founded, the Companhia Geral de Comércio do Grão-Pará e Maranhão and the Companhia Geral de Comércio de Pernambuco e Paraíba. Both companies were privileged and had a monopolistic character. Their lists of shareholders included many Portuguese noblemen and clergy. Between 1757 and 1777, more than 25000 enslaved people were imported to Pará and Maranhão from West African ports. The two issues can be identified by their catchwords on p. [1]: issue one shows the catchword as “a vol-”, that catchword was changed in the second issue to “a”.The inner margin shows some signs of the previous binding. Otherwise in very good condition.l Gauz, Portuguese and Brazilian books in the JCB, 772/1; WorldCat 1045359449 (3 copies); cf. Porbase 2301650 and (no copies).

[4] pp.Unrecorded issue, with slightly different spelling of the text compared to other issues, of a late 18th-century decree by the Portuguese King Joseph I (1714-1777) placing restrictions on the communities of Romani people (also known as the Roma) in Brazil. This decree, dated 20 September 1760 and signed “Rey” (King) at the end, is concluded with formal texts, respectively signed by the Portuguese jurist and diplomat Alexandre Metelo de Sousa e Menezes (1687-1766), Diogo Rangel de Almeida Castello-Branco, Joaquim Miguel Lopes de Lavre (dated Lisbon 13 January 1761), Manoel Gomes de Carvalho, D. Sebastião Maldonado (dated Lisbon 24 January 1761), Rodrigo Xavier Alvares de Moura (dated Lisbon 26 January 1761), and Pedro José Correa. This law forbade Romani people - who were deported to Brazil - to trade in animals or slaves, to carry arms, or to congregate in separate communities, on pain of being transported to the islands of São Tomé and Principe, off the western equatorial coast of Central Africa. Their children were to be educated and were to learn a trade, while the men were to become soldiers or be usefully employed in public works. Despite draconian legislation against Romani people enacted by the Portuguese crown, many of them prospered in colonial Brazil, and were not as heavily persecuted as Romani people in Portugal. With traces of two former staples in the inner blank margin. Otherwise in good condition.l Cf. RIDGEFIELD, WASHINGTON WA. Good. 1917. On offer is a lovely, original manuscript record of a young man's efforts to court a girl with whom he has obviously fallen in love. This soft cover journal is actually a notebook in which he has written in the dates and entries as the year progressed. Measuring 11 inches by 5.5 inches, it contains 96 pages and is approximately 80% complete. He also includes a record of his expenses, month by month. The cover is in good condition considering its age (100 years+) and the pages are all intact. His handwriting is legible. Edward S. Schwantes was born in Wisconsin in 1893, his parents came from Germany in the mid-19th century, later his family moved to Clark County in Washington. He kept this journal in 1917 when he was 24 years of age. Although it records many things that took place in his life that year, its focus is his courting of a young woman names Olga. Casual research has not turned up very much biographical information on Schwantes. We know he served in the U.S. Army and was discharged as a Private but the service years are not known. He is also recorded years later as a building contractor. He died in 1975 in Salem. However, did he get the girl? The answer to that lays below. Schwantes is a labourer in the Ridgefield, WA area. He worked in carpentry, agriculture and a variety of odd jobs: "Worked in the woods all a.m. To town in the p.m. and took in cream & brought back grass seed. [ ] To library in evening". [Jan 25, 1917]; "Butchered old sow in the a.m. cut wood the rest of the day. Sent for 50 ¢ jar of Jacksons Influx Hair Grower & and one cake of soft Jacksons medicated soap - 25 ¢" [Jan 29, 1917]. In February, there is the first mention of 'Olga': "... took Olga home after church and found out some of her troubles. God help you, Olga to win out in your undertakings. God only knows how much I would like to help you and I'm praying for you all the time, Olga. I would like to do more and would do anything in my power to comfort and help you and protect you if only I dared to and I hope some day I will dare to ... " [Feb 18, 1917]. The relationship appeared to be blossoming over time: "... Had the pleasure of taking Olga home after church again and found out that her folks didn't object to my keeping company with her anymore." [Mar 18, 1917]. He notes her birthday and his gift-giving ability: "... took Olga home after church her 19th birthday and all I could give her was love; it seemed I didn't have enough of that to satisfy her ..." [July 8, 1917]. Throughout the year, he reports daily on his work, whether cutting wood, grubbing (clearing trees, shrubs, stumps, and rubbish from a site, often a prelude to construction), building and construction work, etc. References to he and Olga continue throughout the year, charting ups and downs. His journal also contains a detailed list of monthly receipts and expenses. And, in the end, did he get the girl? Yes - research indicates that an Olga was born in 1898 in Scappoose, moved in Ridgefield when she was about 16, in 1919 she married Edward Scwhantes and they were married for 56 years, until his death in 1975. During the WW2 Edward and their sons were in the army, and Olga worked as a welder in shipyards. One of their sons, Paul, was killed in action in the Philippines in November 1944. Olga passed away in Salem in 1996 at the age of 98. This is a wonderful looking into the life of an ordinary young man growing up in early 20th century America. His entries are well written and detailed. They give a social historian an excellent window into life in this time and place. The detailed information about receipts and expenses certainly help confirm other outside information about the economics of life at that time.; Manuscript; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall; KEYWORDS: HISTORY OF; 20TH CENTURY; 1910s; WW1; CLARK COUNTY; WASHINGTON; WISCONSIN; EDWARD S. FIRE ISLAND NEW YORK FLATBUSH BROOKLYN NYC. Good. 1962. On offer is a fascinating and sometimes very sad peek into the mind and soul of a 1960s Hippie Era woman who details her dreams, her therapy sessions and her deepest darkest and most personal revealing thoughts on her psycho sexual problems within this original, handwritten and typed manuscript archive. A rather beautiful woman [included are approximately 12 photos of her and her cat] Nina as she refers to herself, [married name is likely Miller as her husband is Chuck Miller] is very much the beatnik, bohemian and hippie who reveals and extraordinarily intimate personal history following almost a clichéd life: writing originally, we believe from either Flatbush or Brooklyn New York she settled in Fire Island in the 1950s and remained through most of the 1960s. She seems to be of a European background, likely French, mentioning many friends in England and France, her husband is a writer addicted to pornography. In her notes she mentions it was her ability and love of talking 'sexy-dirty' that netted him back when they first met but the origin of her problems begin with childhood and abandonment issues. As per her therapist she records many of her dreams, experiments with marijuana as part of her treatment and within the pages of the archive we read of her desires and intimacies with her therapist though we are unsure how much of it was real or imagined. While some of the reading is entertaining, funny, and insightful, more often it is manic, often very racy and straight talking, but also tinged with sadness, melancholy, a lack of fulfillment and emotionally disturbing. She has some very major issues as to why she seems to desire 'negro' men, her inability to have sex with Jewish men [her father was Jewish] and her parents who went from 'torturing' her by kissing each other in front of her yet them denying her any affection - her father would tell he she was his 3rd cousin and to stop calling him Daddy. [At one point she writes that she watched a little girl sit on her own father's lap and being affectionate which causes Nina to begin a crying jag.] Researchers and historians of psychosexual problems would be hard pressed to find a more intimate and revealing personal account. There are approximately 135 all told, many pages being written or typed on both sides, some age toning and or yellowing etc. and overall the archive is G.; Manuscript; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall; KEYWORDS: HISTORY OF, GENDER STUDIES, WOMEN'S STUDIES, SOCIAL HISTORY, SOCIAL STUDIES, NYMPHO, NINA MILLER, CHUCK MILLER, PSYCHOTHERAPY, DREAM DIARY, DREAM THERAPY, THERAPISTS, FIRE ISLAND, PSYCHO SEXUALITY, NYMPHOMANIA, PSYCHIATRISTS SLEEPING WITH PATIENTS, NYMPHOMANIAC, SEXUAL REVOLUTION, SEXUAL ADDICTION, SEX ADDICTS, MANIA, SEX MANIAC, CHILDHOOD AND ABANDONMENT ISSUES, MENTAL ILLNESS, DRUGS, EXPERIMENT WITH MARIJUANA, PORN, PORNOGRAPHY, HANDWRITTEN, MANUSCRIPT, AUTOGRAPHED, AUTHORS, MANUSCRIPT, DOCUMENT, LETTER, AUTOGRAPH, KEEPSAKE, WRITER, HAND WRITTEN, DOCUMENTS, SIGNED, LETTERS, MANUSCRIPTS, HISTORICAL, HOLOGRAPH, WRITERS, AUTOGRAPHS, PERSONAL, MEMOIR, MEMORIAL, PERSONAL HISTORY, ARCHIVE, DIARY, DIARIES, antiquité, contrat, vélin, document, manuscrit, papier Antike, Brief, Pergament, Dokument, Manuskript, Papier oggetto d'antiquariato, atto, velina, documento, manoscritto, carta antigüedad, hecho, vitela, documento, manuscrito, Papel, .

CHINA PRC. Good. 1986. On offer is a charming manuscript relic of post-Mao Zedong Communist China being a diary handwritten by a girl named Wang Chen Hua during her high school years of 1986 - 1987. HAIFA, ISRAEL. Good. 1936. On offer is a notebook and diary In Hebrew authored by Ruth Aschner, a daughter of German refugees who came to Israel in mid-1930s. The notebook measures 8,1' x 6,2', contains 138 pages, and is 90% complete. The pages are slightly yellowed, and there are some scribbles on the cover, and some pages, but otherwise the condition is good and the handwriting is very legible. On the 41st page there is text: "General notebook of Ruth Aschner, Carmel Mountain, Ben-Zion Neighborhood, Aschner House", followed by a record dated 1937 with rules of a ball game rules. Though cursory search did not reveal much information, it is clear from the context that the family came to Mandatory Palestine in mid-1930s, at the time Ruth was writing her diary she was between 11 -14 years old, her father worked at "Migdal" (most likely Migdal insurance company) - Ruth writes about his trips to Jerusalem on business and in one of the entries writes that someone broke into his car and stole his work documents ("acts"), "everything collected during the months of work in MIgdal". The first 80 pages are school notes, including conjugation tables, reading and grammar rules with explanations in German writing practice in Hebrew, riddles and jokes, lists of books, a list of about 140 pictures from Degel cigarette packs, Kedem tobacco company, a list of students with their birthdays, and more. The most interesting part is 46 pages titled "Private Diary belonging to Ruth Aschner, from September 1940 to the end of May 1941". The entries vary in length, there are usually 3 to 5 entries on each page, but there are some that take more than one page. It could be a typical description of everyday life of a school girl, but almost every entry includes details reflecting the most tragic and turbulent time in the 20th century history. She writes about Italian bombings of Haifa, SS Patria disaster, Yugoslavia Coup d'Etat, death of Greek Prime Minister Metaxas. The very first entry starts with description of a bombing: "In the afternoon the Rozens came to visit us, suddenly there was an attack, the siren did not work, all the bombs fell into the sea. Then we went to a dressmaker that is making a dress and a school skirt for me. Yehudit Ben-Zion and her family moved to another apartment, not close..." [Sept. 6, 1940]. Italian bombings of Mandatory Palestine during WW2 were targeting ports and refineries in Palestine, primarily Haifa and Tel-Aviv. Haifa was hit many times since June 1940, the bombings continued until June 1941, and so does her diary - along with describing bombings, sirens, hiding in shelter, she writes about weather, school, trips, scout activities, music lessons, entertainment: "In the afternoon I have a music lesson. In the morning Yehudit came here [...]. For dinner I made salad - tomatoes with salt, onion, oil and vinegar. At 2.30 p.m. there was an attack again, we ran to the bomb shelter, the bombs fell near the "refinery", the siren was late as usually. At 7.10 there was an attack, I was at Dalia's ...The news are not clear... ". [Sept. 8, 1940]; "In the morning at 8.45 the siren sounded - we ran to the shelter, I was still in pajamas...I helped mother, later I will go to the shoemaker....there have been 5 attacks already and in all of them tanks were burning. Together with those that I mentioned there were 8. At 2.10 the siren sounded again and we ran to the shelter ... did not hear anything...then I was in the middle of dishwashing. Then there was another attack at 2.30, we did not hear anything, ran to the shelter, then after all-clear signal we went up. In the evening I will go to the dressmaker to try clothes on. Two letters came today, one from England, one from America. At 5 in the evening there was another attack and we ran to the shelter again. It makes you crazy - 4 times during the day...terrible.... [...]. Dad, Harry and Paula will go to the cinema to see "Verdi" in the evening [...]" [Sept.9, 1940]. On that day there were no casualties in Haifa, but 147 people were killed in Tel-Aviv, about which she writes 3 days later: "On 9.9 there was a bombing in Tel-Aviv, about 120 people were killed, 100 of them Jewish. Jews were destroyed and injured at their homes. Enemy airplanes were flying low, after the event the siren sounded...." In November another tragic event happens, this time in Haifa: "Several days ago there arrived a ship with refugees from Germany and occupied countries, she has been in the port for a week already and the English do not allow them to get off ... There are some people we know, like Epstein and other...". In November three ships with over 3,600 Jewish refugees arrived in Haifa, but the British refused their entry, and the passengers were transferred to another ship, SS Patria. Yishuv leaders organized a general strike, but it had little effect: "19.11 40: today there is a strike at 12:00 until midnight because they do not want to allow people to get off from the ship ...." On November 25 overloaded SS Patria sank because of the explosion: "25.11. Disaster happened...The ship Patria sank. Do not know why it happened. They say that it exploded but it is only rumours. People did not drown, but 30 were injured and transported to Hadassah. The others are sitting in the port without clothes, so we organized into groups and stations and collected clothes and blankets for the refugees....." Unfortunately she was wrong - over two hundred and seventy people drowned, 172 were injured. As it became known many years later the explosion was organized by Haganah members as an attempt to prevent the ship from leaving the port, but they miscalculated the size of explosion. She also writes about political news from Europe, there is a part titled "politics" in some of her entries - usually it is a newspaper clipping accompanied by her comments: "I think that instead of writing what I think is right, it would be better to take pieces from newspaper (in newspapers they know politics better than I do)". The clippings include an article about death of Greek Prime-minister Ioannis Metaxas, a headline about certificates issued to Jewish refugees, and an article about Belgrade Coup D'Etat of March 27, 1941 that replaced pro-Nazi government with young King Peter II opposing to Nazi Germany: "Big revolution in Yugoslavia. Regent Paul left, the young King Peter 17.5 years old came to power against Hitler and the old Prime-minister was arrested because he wanted to support Hitler (Peter is a "terribly" nice boy, he immediately became loved, I like him very much. 17 year old boy and the king, very, very unusual)..." [Apr. 3, 1941]. She writes about events important for the Jewish community in Palestine, like a few lines about Henrietta Szold birthday and about the death of Dov Hoz, Labor Zionist leader, in a car accident. Her diary is a great evidence of what life for Jewish refugees was like in pre-state Israel. She mentions many movies and performances they saw: "I went with the parents now to "Matate" - "Lights in darkness" and will come back in the evening..." "Matate" was a satirical theatre established in 1928. There are several detailed descriptions of her trips with Tzofim (Jewish scouts) to Tiberias, Hurshat Ha'arbaim, Kibbutz Yagur and Druz village Isfiya, as well as of small family trips to Jerusalem. She writes about her friends and family birthdays, and even gives the recipe of a chocolate fish she made for her father. This is an excellent document of life in Mandatory Palestine during the first years of the Second World War. It contains references to many historical events as seen by a young girl and provides valuable information for local historians and genealogists, including names of local residents, Aschner family and friends, students and teachers from Ruth's school and Tzofim movement, many with their birthdays. It also contains information about cultural events in the city and school program and activities.; Manuscript; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall; KEYWORDS: HISTORY OF; 1940s; 20TH CENTURY; WW2, SECOND WORLD WAR; ITALIAN BOMBINGS OF HAIFA; HAIFA REFINERY BOMBINGS; LIFE OF JEWISH IMMIGRANTS IN PRE-STATE ISRAEL; MANDATORY PALESTINE; ISRAEL; PRE-STATE ISRAEL; JEWISH REFUGEES IN MANDATORY PALESTINE; REFUGEES FROM NAZI GERMANY; HEBREW SCHOOLS IN MANDATORY PALESTINE; "MATATE" SATIRICAL THEATRE; READING PATTERNS OF JEWISH YOUTHS IN PRE-STATE ISRAEL; PATRIA DISASTER; HURSHAT HA'ARBAIM; BEN-ZION NEIGHBORHOOD (HAIFA); SCHOOL TRIPS IN MANDATORY PALESTINE; ISFIYA; MOUNT CARMEL; YAGUR; YUGOSLAV COUP D'ETAT, KING PETER II OF YUGOSLAVIA; IOANNIS METAXAS; HAR CARMEL WATER TOWER; CARMEL MOUNTAIN; TZOFIM; HEBREW SCOUTS MOVEMENT; JEWISH YOUTH MOVEMENT; MIGDAL COMPANY; DOV HOZ; JEWISH YOUTH IN MANDATORY PALESTINE; IMMIGRATION TO PRE-STATE ISRAEL; FIFTH ALIYAH; FIFTH WAVE OF IMMIGRATION TO ISRAEL; YISHUV; HANDWRITTEN, MANUSCRIPT, DOCUMENT, LETTER, AUTOGRAPH, WRITER, HAND WRITTEN, DOCUMENTS, SIGNED, LETTERS, MANUSCRIPTS, DIARY, DIARIES, JOURNALS, PERSONAL HISTORY, SOCIAL HISTORY, HISTORICAL, HOLOGRAPH, WRITERS, AUTOGRAPHS, PERSONAL, MEMOIR, MEMORIAL, ANTIQUITÉ, CONTRAT, VÉLIN, DOCUMENT, MANUSCRIT, PAPIER ANTIKE, BRIEF, PERGAMENT, DOKUMENT, MANUSKRIPT, PAPIER OGGETTO D'ANTIQUARIATO, ATTO, VELINA, DOCUMENTO, MANOSCRITTO, CARTA ANTIGÜEDAD, HECHO, VITELA, DOCUMENTO, MANUSCRITO, PAPEL .

The writings run from the mundane duties of daily life, observations regarding Chinese medical methods, comparing Western methods and all matters of day to day life like their 4th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 16th 1911, their baby Virginia adoringly referred to as 'Little Girl Baby' plus almost daily fully written descriptions and opinions of this couple with a keen observant eye and obviously accomplished diarists. Adding a superb depth to the breadth of their mission are a number of ephemeral pieces including letter copies, notes, financials, lists of visitors, Christmas gifts, recipes, newspaper cuttings and Chinese Imperial decrees etc., etc. provide for an extraordinary detailed look into Christian outreach in China at the very moment of China's move into the Modern Era from just before the Wuchang Uprising and the ascendancy of Sun Yat-Sen. Some loss to the spine and detached covers on the 1910 and 1911 books with 1909 VG but overall G.; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall; KEYWORDS: HISTORY OF, MISSIONARY, MISSIONARIES, MISSIONS, DOCTORS ON TRAVELS, THE MIDDLE KINGDOM, TRAVEL, HISTORY OF CHINESE CONVERSION TO CHRISTIANITY, WESTERN MEDICINE, CHRISTIAN, CHRISTIANITY, OUTREACH, TURN OF THE CENTURY, CHINA, MODERN ERA, VADE MECUM, HANDWRITTEN, MANUSCRIPT, DOCUMENT, LETTER, AUTOGRAPH, DIARY, JOURNAL, LOG, KEEPSAKE, WRITER, HAND WRITTEN, DOCUMENTS, SIGNED, LETTERS, MANUSCRIPTS, HISTORICAL, HOLOGRAPH, WRITERS, DIARIES, JOURNALS, LOGS, AUTOGRAPHS, PERSONAL, MEMOIR, MEMORIAL, PERSONAL HISTORY, TRAVEL, 20TH CENTURY, antiquité, contrat, vélin, document, manuscrit, papier Antike, Brief, Pergament, Dokument, Manuskript, Papier oggetto d'antiquariato, atto, velina, documento, manoscritto, carta antigüedad, hecho, vitela, documento, manuscrito, Papel, Wuchang Uprising, Wuhan, Republic of China, Nanjing, Sun Yat-sen, Yuan Shikai, Qing government, post Boxer Rebellion, Chengdu, Chengtu, Sichuan Province, Southwest China .

Engraved frontispiece + 24, [2], 20 pp. + 63 plates; engraved frontispiece + 20, [2], 17, [1 blank] pp. + 64 plates.Rare complete first edition, in the original German with a French translation, of a classic of zoological illustration, with 127 large plates showing wild and domestic quadrupeds (a few including two or more animals, sometimes from different species), by the south German painter, engraver, draughtsman and publisher Johann Elias Ridinger (1698-1767), born in Ulm and educated and working in Augsburg. His beautiful and by turns charming, grotesque or amusing animal plates in the present series are finely engraved and intended for colouring. The plates show the animals in characteristic poses, sometimes in motion, in (mostly natural) landscapes. A few show animals in captivity or otherwise reveal interactions between humans and animals. Among all Ridinger's works the plates of the present series are the most sought-after and are considered his finest work. Thienemann (1856) called the book "vollständig wohl nirgends mehr zu finden" and was unable to see 3 plates and Schwerdt (1928) knew only two complete copies: his own and that of Baron Rudolf Ritter von Gutmann (1880-1966) described by Schwarz (1910), with the 18th-century bookplate of Henricus Le Couvreur. There appears to be a complete copy at the Austrian National Library in Vienna.Ridinger set up his own art publishing house in 1723 and later brought his sons Martin Elias (1730-1780) and Johann Jakob (1736-1784) into the firm. Ridinger died in 1767 with the book still unfinished, but his sons continued the firm, completed the book, signed its texts and no doubt published it themselves. From the renowned hunting collection of Marcel Jeanson (1885-1942), with his bookplate and the manuscript item number 1622. With occasional minor foxing in the frontispieces and text leaves, but still in very good condition, most of the plates fine. The spine shows minor wear and the paper sides are scuffed, but the binding is still in good condition.l Jeanson 1622 (the present copy); Nissen, ZBI 3408; Schwerdt III, pp. 145-146; Thiébaud, col. 785 (citing Brunet); Thienemann, Johann Elias Ridinger 974-1102 (pp. 197-232, perversely numbering the plates 1-62, 69-133); Schwarz, Katalog einer Ridinger-Sammlung, I, pp. 125-140 (Gutmann copy); St. Morét, "Wer hat das Thierreich so in seines Pinsels Macht?", in: Die Tierdarstellungen von Johann I Elias Ridinger (exhib. cat. Museum Jagdschloß Kranichstein, Darmstadt) (1999).
