Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound hardcover, clean, unmarked interior but for previous owner's inscription, neatly rendered, minimal rubbing to extremities. Bound simply in blue cloth over boards, gold stamped lettering to cover and spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, little worn, protected by a plastic coat. First edition of this anthology of stories, personal accounts, and historical references to Klondike Gold Rush figures, Native America Eskimos, traveling the Yukon River, and more by this famed Alaska pioneering woman. Mary Lee Davis arrived in Fairbanks in 1917 on the steamer Alaska because her husband John had been assigned by the U.S. Geological Survey to create a mine experiment station in Fairbanks. Mary Davis purchased the famed arts & crafts bungalow built by Lucille McCarthy, now known as the Mary Lee Davis House.
