The book has maroon boards with gilt lettering on the spine, and a mystical flying horse and star embossed on the front board. The spine and around the edges of the board are sunned. There is very minimal bumping, with slight corner scuff and bend. The top of the spine has slight shelf ware scuffing, and very minor nicks. The spine and around the board edges it is sunned. The boards are in a very good condition, especially with there being no jacket, and its age. There is no jacket with this book. There is pencil writing on the front end paper. The pages are in a very good condition, apart from having some age spots, but not all of the pages. These do not affect the writing in the book. Overall, I would class this book at in a very good condition, especially given the age of the book.

"We have collected all of Poe's Tales which are short stories" for this edition. Illustrated by William Sharp. This is bound in the publisher's original black & orange patterned cloth covers with black spine and gilt spine lettering. There is a previous owner name dated 1944 on the front free end paper, and another owner name indicating she received from the first owner in 1962. The spine is sun faded to gray, else it is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings except as noted. The gray slipcase is worn and split but still serviceable. Also includes the 4 page publishe's Sandglass publication describing the book and the illustrator. The only date is that of the 1941 Limited Editions Club first edition--New York Heritage imprints were used fom 1938-1972. Heritage reprinted LE Club titles.; B&W Illustrations; 8vo, 8"-9" tall; 366 pages.
First Edition as stated on copyright page with letters A-E. Near fine to fine book, minor wear. Very good DJ, minor wear, chip on top left corner of spine, and plastic coming off from jacket.
A finely made facsimile of the 1919 George Harrap edition. Half bound in blue leather / leatherette with gilt lettering to the spine. Unmarked FINE condition copy.
With the exception of the spine, this book is in clean, tight, near-pristine condition. The spine has some soiling and one deep smudge mark. The cardboard case is only in fair condition as there is some separation occurring. This also comes with an original leaflet provided by the publisher. See pictures for condition.
Previously issued by Penguin as an Illustrated Classic. Rear cover has advert for Schweppes Soda Water. Fairly clean tight book but rather worn about spine which itself is intact with all lettering etc.
