Octavo, 84pp. A nice, clean, unmarked copy, just a touch shaken, but sound - very near fine. In a near fine dust jacket, gently offset with a faint stain at the fore-edge, but with none of the usual spine toning. Fresh deep blue/black topstain.

Scarce pre-publication issue of this short novel, his 1st book after winning the National Book Award in 1955. Stamped on front endpage "Franz J. Horch, Author's Representative, 325 East 57th St. New York 22 , NY" . Binding is fragile, as would be expected, since this wasn't meant to last when printed. Dustjacket is sun-toned on back panel and has wear at spine tips and a 1" tear along spine. A wonderful and scarce addition to any O'Hara collection.
