Over 1000 pictures, 511 pages, copyright page states "First Edition", no indications of other printings. Binding is tight, sturdy and square; pictures, illustrations, boards and text also very good. DJ has chipping/small tears along edges and two larger tears (including a 2-1/2 inch by 1/2 inch chunk missing at heel of spine). DJ mostly intact and now protected in Mylar wraps.

Dj is price clipped; 180 mm closed and stained tear at rear; closed chips 28x14, 28x7mm and 4 smaller ones on the corners, rubbed on rear. Book has top edge coloured; 2 small smudges on free eps. An enduring classic.

In a paper wrapper with black lettering on both panels and flaps. ___CONDITION: Volume is near fine, boards have straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; some fading to green color of both boards in uneven patches and on back boards around perimeter.
