Runic Tongue Signed and Inscribed
by Kevin T. Mceneaney, Veronica Towers, Drawing And Title Page
SALE Near Very Good. Original Limited First Edition Wrappers. New York: At-Swim Press, 1981. First Limited Edition. 8v. A wonderful collection of Irish American poetry by the founder and owner of 'Facsimile Books', Kevin T. McEneaney a great New York City Irish bookstore that like my store, "Three Geese In Flight Celtic Books", and "Rivendell" and "Keshkerigan" were part of the "Golden Age" of Celtic Bookstores in New York specialized in Irish and Celtic Books. Few bookstores survive against the beast. I am perhaps the last survivor of the Alamo. Here at least Kevin's fine Irish American poetry has survived in this limited edition to 300 copies. This has a attractive Celtic calligraphy on the card cover. Full page Celtic design page as well. Except for cover soiling and fading in good shape and internally clean and bright. Here inscribed and signed by McEneaney himself. See our Three Geese in Flight Book Scans.

Troupers of the Gold Coast; or, The Rise of Lola Crabtree. Entertaining biography of Lotta Crabtree, the performer and personality who became known as "The Fairy Star of The Gold Rush" and "The California Diamond". Crabtree arrived in the California gold
by Constance Rourke, SIGNED by Author in Blue Ink on Half Title pg , Illustrated B/W Glossies, B/W PHOTO FRONTISPIECE, LOTTA 1867 OF YOUNG GIRL IN DRESS, Salutation,
Harcourt, Brace & Company, New York,, 1928 HARDBACK NODustjacket, 1928, 1st Edition, 1st Printing, NF+/VG, AS-IS, NOJACKET, 262 pgs, Index ,Green cloth Hardbound Cvr with Embossed emblem & bevelled Edges light wear small light Stains. 8vo (about 8.75 inches tall) Spine cvr rub & Fade. Interior Nice tight Clean Light Wear Fox, , Crabtree arrived in the California gold fields at age 5 and began dancing in the mining camps at age 8. She and her family moved to San Francisco when she was 9 and Lotta continued to attract much attention on the stage for a number of years. Several years later she came east and was a sensation in the Broadway music halls. As can be imagined, the beautiful performer was ardently persued but never married; her mother, and later she herself, invested in California real estate. She retired to New Jersey, a wealthy woman, at age 45., Lotta, who became the most popular soubrette of the seventies and eighties, began her career in the gold camps of the High Sierras, and the gambling saloons and variety halls of San Francisco. Troupes appeared not only in the theatres of the cities, but took to the road by stage coach or even on foot and played in the remotest mining towns with showers of gold as their reward. This is the story of the fascinating Lotta who emerged out of this background to become throughout the country the foremost comedy actress and the pioneer in extravaganza and burlesque. Includes much about other entertainers of the time, including Ada Menken, Lola Montez, the Booths, Julia Dean, and more. Wheat's California Gold Rush. Signed by Author(s). 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket.
