JW Consignment. Shelved []. Mark Twain was born on November 30, 1835 in Florida, Missouri. Throughout his life he would become an iconic writer and speaker, hailed for his humor, wit, and satire, named by William Faulkner as "the father of American literature". Twain's works, from his most famous novels "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" to his anti-imperialist essays and satires against both the occupation of Hawaii and Belgian atrocities in the Congo, have been studied in public schools and by researchers across generations, speaking across time with their wit and humor. This collection contains a breadth of Mark Twain's finished works, with each containing an introduction by such literary giants as Toni Morrison, Kurt Vonnegut, and Ursula K. Le Guin and an afterword by noteworthy Twain scholars. Each Volume provides a facsimile of the original work as well as a number of original illustrations. 1385309. Special Collections.
