Black cloth with blue spine titling, very good with slight fading to an area of the back panel, beneath a chip in the dust jacket; lightly bumped spine ends. Spine square. Binding sound. Dust jacket good only with aforementioned chip at top edge of back panel, about 1.5 x 2.5-inches, with occasional closed tears along the other edges and light scuffing / shelf-wear. 1977 Thomas Crowell FIRST edition 2nd printing ( # line to 2) of Paterson's always RARE book. The book is ***SIGNED & INSCRIBED to a reader & DATED 11/9/1996,*** on a tipped-in card, located on the title page. A beautiful and hard-to-find copy with the author's inscribed signature makes it a great gift for any age and occasion. The hardback & spine is in Near Fine condition, with no marks, slant, stains. There is a trace of foxing on the front and rear end paper. The dust jacket is also in Near Fine condition. It is later state, when the book's publisher changed to HarperCollins. There is a faint discoloration near the edges but otherwise the DJ is clean and bright. Adapted successfully for film in 2007 by David Paterson and Jeff Stockwell, directed by Gabor Csupo, starring Josh Hutcherson, AnnaSophia Robb, Zooey Deschanel, and Robert Patrick.

Second printing with number row ending in 2. Black cloth boards, very light shelf wear; boards warp outwards ever so slightly. Minor wear and handling soil to dust jacket; a couple short closed tears; no major tears or chips; $7.95 price intact; Newberry Medal on front; jacket a little stretched from previous brodart with paper backing, now in non-backed brodart. Scarce first printing in jacket. Book is Fine with just a touch of rubbing to tips, whitening the dark cloth. Interior perfectly clean, crisp, unmarked. No handling noted. Beautiful copy. Dust jacket with a bit of chipping to tips and two tears to back panel, one about an inch and the other about one-fourth inch. Some dust, but really, for a jacket that is mostly white, it is quite clean and presents very well. The original $7.95 price is intact on front flap, and there are no medal stickers attached. Laid in is an author's biography/bibliography put out by Dutton and Penguin Putnam; this is inscribed and signed by Paterson. Creased from folding in half, no other damage.

The book is inscribed by Paterson on the title page and is dated the year of publication. The inscription reads, "For Colby Rodowsky - I'm so glad to get to know you - Best wishes - Katherine Paterson - 12/8/77". This was Colby Rodowsky's personal copy and is signed by her on the front endpaper. First printings of Bridge to Terabithia are scarce as there were only 7000 copies printed. The book and dust jacket both have rubbing and toning overall. The book has a moderate lean and bumps to the spine ends. Binding is tight and the interior pages are unmarked. Dust jacket shows minor wear to edges and corners, small chips to the spine ends, and a few small closed tears to the edges. Dust jacket is wraped in protective mylar.
