An anthology consisting of five plays; being Volume 34 only. This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition. Leather binding, ruled in gilt on the covers; spine with five raised bands; titling in gilt on red and black leather labels. Clean text, with no foxing; all bright and fresh. The works collected are "Timanthes. A Tragedy" [1795] by John Hoole, 72 pages; "The Chapter of Accidents. A Comedy" [1793] by Miss Lee, 108 pages; "Elfrida. A Dramatic Poem" [1796] by William Mason, 68 pages; "Samson Agonistes. A Dramatic Poem" [1796] by John Milton, 72 pages; and "Creusa, Queen of Athens" [1797] by William Whitehead, 76 pages. Each play has its own title page; "Timanthes" is published by Bell, rather than Cawthorn. Rubbed at the margins, with some chipping on the lower spine and its front edge.
