An account of a major Round the World oceanographic cruise in H.M.S. Challenger under the direction of Professor Sir Charles Wyllie Thomson, F.R.S. The major scientific emphasis was on a study of the seabed, but the narrative covers an extensive description of the places visited. Please note that this book was previously owned by Lieutenant Commander Andrew David of the Royal Navy. David's bookplate is on the front free endpaper.
